map_meta_cap() │ WP 2.0.0
Переводит указанную мета-возможность в примитивную возможность, чтобы потом проверить право доступа пользователя.
Эта функция не проверяет имеет ли указанный пользователь, указанную возможность. Задача этой функции — «налету» преобразовать мета-возможность в примитивную, чтобы потом проверить примитивное право в списке прав у пользователя (у его роли).
Например, право edit_post
, в отличии от edit_posts
указывает на редактирование конкретного поста. edit_posts
– это примитивное право и оно записано в правах роли. edit_post
- это мето-право обрабатывается данной функцией и может превратиться в:
- edit_published_posts, если данный пост опубликован;
- или в edit_posts – если нет;
- или в edit_private_posts, если данный пост является приватным.
И на основе полученного примитивного права current_user_can() уже определяет есть ли доступ у юзера.
Зачем это нужно? Не можем же мы записывать в права каждого пользователя, что он может редактировать пост 1,2,3,4,5 и т.д. – получится слишком много данных. Именно поэтому используются мета-права, которые должны превратиться в примитивные, которые в свою очередь можно сравнить с правами роли.
Этот принцип лежит в основе проверок возможностей, в частности в основе работы функции current_user_can()
